First
and foremost my name is Emily Elizabeth, similar to the one in Clifford, but without the blonde hair
and Monstrous canine companion. As a person, I have always tried to seek out
the little things in order to define myself, rather than simply slapping on a
label or using my past experiences to describe who I am. I have gone through many hardships and
triumphs, but instead of categorizing myself as strong, creative, an athlete or
an artist, I incorporate these into my lifestyle. I am someone who has a
love-hate relationship with running and although I am not very large, lifting
weights puts a stride of confidence into my step. Cross training and yoga keep
my body healthy and my mind relaxed. Exercise can be a way for me to escape
from reality or a time to put issues back into perspective.
In order to keep
my stress over classes at bay I always keep something my mom once said to me in
mind. “I didn’t send you to college to get A’s. There are doctors that got A’s
and doctors that got C’s.” It made me realize that I should put more emphasis
on the knowledge I retain rather than the grade letter I receive. Nutritional
Sciences is something that peaked my interests roughly two years ago. It began
as curiosity and cultivated itself into my everyday routine. Sports nutrition
would be my ideal line of work within this field. Combining fitness along with
a proper diet is a feat I desire to share with others. Traveling with athletes
and adjusting intakes in order to achieve maximum performance is my ultimate
occupational goal.
When I was
younger, I was determined to become an author. Writing has always been a
passion of mine, but I have never believed my talents excelled enough to turn
it into a serious career. With the help of this blog I hope to gain new insight
and a fresh new outlook on writing. Appealing to an audience while providing
them information about nutrition is my approach to this innovative style of
text. My hope is to lead by example and inspire others to build healthier lives
in the same way that I was.
